Cogent, the Sector Skills Councils for the oil, gas, chemical and nuclear industry
The Background: Sector Skills Council’s (SSCs) provide the essential bridge between the supply and the demand side of the skills agenda. In order to achieve this, they need to have the capacity to understand and engage with future skills demands.
The Challenge: Cogent needed an independent assessment of its current capacity in Labour Market Intelligence (LMI) and related services.
The Solution: Navigate carried out a full consultation exercise with partners on the employer and training provider side, as well as analysing approaches taken by other SSCs. The outcome of this was a clearer understanding of how the approach to LMI should be structured, alongside a variety of delivery options. These included both in-house and partnership approaches.
The Result: Having identified a need for in-house capacity, Navigate were engaged to recruit an experienced research team to carry on the implementation of the project.
