Jenny Vickers

Senior Associate

Jenny’s focus is helping local authorities and schools raise the bar of achievement.

She started her career as a teacher, with a successful track record in headship before branching out as a local authority adviser and Ofsted inspector, eventually taking on senior management roles in education directorates.

Immediately before joining Navigate, Jenny was Deputy Director of Children’s Services at York City Council, helping to steer the authority through major re-organisation which brought a dynamism to multi-agency working and further improvements to the service to children, young people and families. She was key to the authority’s achievement of beacon status for school improvement.

Throughout her wide-ranging career, Jenny has been at the forefront of school improvement at both a strategic and operational level. Over the years, her collaborative approach with colleagues in local authority school improvement teams, and leadership teams in schools, has proved the power of partnership-working.
