Michael Cross

Non-Executive Chair

Currently Chair of Carbon Auditors – a spin-out from University College London and the University of Montana – and Temporary Workforce Performance Excellence, and a member of the Enterprise Board of University College London.

As part of the founding team, he helped to establish Navigate’s core mission and purpose – to make a positive difference to learners by equipping organisations involved in education and children’s services with the leadership they need to succeed.

A published expert in the fields of job and organisation design – Michael holds honorary fellowships at City University and Manchester University Business Schools. He is currently Chair of the Carlyle Circle at the University of Edinburgh (raising pledges of over £20mn in the last two years) and he also sits on the University’s Campaign Board. He also Chairs the London Project – A Cure for Blindness which has raised £10mn in the last 18 months. He is a former board member of Cogent Sector Skills Council and was on the boards of its predecessors for the last 20 years. A former Fellow of Durham University, he is now a Fellow of the University of London and a Freeman of the City of London.

And his business career is equally impressive, with more than three decades of experience which has taken him to Board level roles in sectors ranging from textiles and clothing to pharmaceuticals.
