Mike Galloway

Senior Associate (FE)

Mike spent 35 years in the further education sector. He was the Principal of York College from April 1999 until January 2008. He had previously been Principal of York Sixth Form College; Head of the Yorkshire and Humberside office of the Further Education Funding Council; and Principal of Afan College, Port Talbot.

Mike was the main architect of the York College merger in 1999 and took the lead role in implementing the post-merger strategy. In addition, he led the College through a £60+m new build and relocation project which was completed on time and on budget in the summer of 2007.

Mike leads Navigate’s services for the FE sector, from support with leadership recruitment to wider consultancy support on succession planning and development. His work has taken him from the North of England to the far South West, valued by clients for his deep understanding of the sector which is rooted in first hand experience.
