City College Norwich seeks a new Deputy Principal

Deputy Principal, Enterprise and Innovation £90K plus PRP

City College Norwich is a large, well-established college of Further and Higher Education, which operates the majority of its services from its Ipswich Road campus, close to Norwich City Centre. With an annual turnover of £44.5 million, the College has over 900 staff supporting 14,000 learners each year. The College's annual contribution to the Norfolk economy is estimated to be in excess of £100million.  The College has a clear focus on responding to the national and regional skills agenda, whilst delivering a balanced portfolio of academic and vocational courses across a broad curriculum. It currently provides programmes in 14 of the 15 subject sector areas.

In September 2011, City College Norwich joined forces with 4 other FE Colleges to set up a new company, Generator Enterprises Ltd and out of that the Gazelle initiative www.thegazellegroup.com, to develop a cluster of entrepreneurial colleges. The College has also recently invested £1m in a new Start Up Lounge where students gain practical support in how to turn their ideas into real business opportunities.

This role will be key to translating ambition into action and establishing City College Norwich as a leading Entrepreneurial College. You'll help to diversify and grow income streams and ensure the College continues to work closely with the key players in the regional economy.  Whilst direct experience of FE isn't essential, you will need a strong affinity with the sector and a keen insight into the benefits to be gained from colleges working in collaboration with key stakeholders. With exceptional communication skills, you should be well networked and outward looking - with one eye firmly on future opportunities and a successful track record in your career to date.
