If you are seeking a fresh challenge, where you can really make your mark, raise your profile and create educational improvements for the children in Bristol, then we want to hear from you.
Navigate is proud to be working in partnership with Bristol City Council to recruit two school improvement officers within Bristol’s children and young people’s service.
Bristol City Council is in a period of significant transition which represents an unwavering endeavour to improve the services they deliver to their children, young people and families. They are a city moving forward with pace benefitting from significant regeneration and this investment has revolutionised not only the city’s skyline and green spaces, but crucially the education provision they are able to provide, with new primary and secondary schools being built across the city, along with many new children’s centres.
The council is committed to ensuring that by 2011 there are no primary schools with standards below the floor target of 55% English and maths combined at the end of Key Stage 2. As part of that vision, they expect to see every school have high aspirations for all learners, offering a rich curriculum and successfully narrowing attainment gaps for all vulnerable pupils.
The team at Bristol is working exceptionally hard, and together they are moving forward – but they know that they can't afford to be complacent, as much remains to be done to improve the life chances of all children and young people. There is a clear view of where good and strong progress has been made, and of where effort must be prioritised to quicken the pace of improvement. It is about creating the capacity to achieve more, and this is where you could have an important part to play.
