Two academy leaders at Navigate Academies Trust have been successful in their applications to become National Leaders of Education (NLEs).
Jane Wilson, Executive Principal at Brambles and Dormanstown Primary Academies, and Katrina Morley, Headteacher of Pennyman Primary Academy, will begin to support other schools and academies in addition to leading their own, as part of the National Leaders of Education programme.
The programme aims to increase the leadership capacity of other schools to help raise standards, and forms part of the government’s plan to give schools a central role in developing a self-improving school system – a key area of focus in the recently revised National Standards of Excellence for Headteachers (2015).
Jane and Katrina join a select group of approximately 1,000 other NLEs, having led their academies to outstanding. This is a great achievement, and is testament to the pair’s hard work and leadership across Navigate Academies Trust’s Tees Valley Hub.
